My name is Jason Gant and I am the Director of Student Ministries at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. I work with the best staff team in all of youth ministry reaching 6th grade-college life. I also lead the "Vibe" worship venue on Sunday mornings in the Student Center. I just released my first book (a ministry guide between Resurrection and Abingdon Press designed to encourage and equip youth ministry leaders in the smaller church setting). I am married to Scharme, and we have two daughters.

Vibe worship kicks off this Sunday morning

We begin a weekly worship venue service this Sunday morning, October 12th (the 18th anniversary of our church). The service will be from 10:45am-12:00pm weekly, and we are having a gathering tonight (6:30-8:00pm) with FREE pizza and ice cream for anyone who would like to pray over the space, train to be an usher, barista, or sacred spaces design team (helps create the prayer spaces in the service). Here is the news bite that went out to our congregation in the hopes they might share this info with their non-religious or nominally religious friends who would be looking for this style of a service.

Vibe Service Launching This Sunday, October 12,
10:45 am, East Building Student Center
Vibe is a new weekly worship experience for people of all ages. This worship service will be edgy, casual, and contemporary, designed to reach non-religious and nominally religious people and help them to become deeply committed Christians. Doors will open at 10:30 am with coffee and goodies available in the cafe area, while the band offers a softer musical background for conversation and connection. The music, lights, and production level brighten up as we begin praise and worship around 10:45 am. One of the elements unique to the Vibe worship experience will happen following the message (delivered on the video screens), where people will be invited to respond through different options: an offering to share our gifts and tithes in response to God's grace and love, singing in praise along with the Vibe band, and moving through creative stations around the room designed for people to respond to God in creative ways. In this first series, Illuminate, the stations in the room will give people an opportunity to write prayers on paper that will be illuminated, reminding each of us of God's power through the Holy Spirit. We hope this service will give you another opportunity to invite a friend to know, love, and serve God through worship at Resurrection. If you would like to get involved in the "behind the Vibe team," contact Tami Casey at tami.casey@cor.org.
