My name is Jason Gant and I am the Director of Student Ministries at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. I work with the best staff team in all of youth ministry reaching 6th grade-college life. I also lead the "Vibe" worship venue on Sunday mornings in the Student Center. I just released my first book (a ministry guide between Resurrection and Abingdon Press designed to encourage and equip youth ministry leaders in the smaller church setting). I am married to Scharme, and we have two daughters.

Leadership Institute next week

This next week we will host the tenth annual Leadership Institute at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. We have the largest crowd ever coming, some 1600 Pastor's and Leaders from literally all over the world. Some of this year's highlights for us in student ministries include:

-launching a new Youth ministry conference, which will debut and be promoted next week at Institute called "Confabulation: the so what and what now of youth ministry". It will be limited to 100 participants and is designed for those youth minister's in their 1st through 5th year in ministry. Chris Folsmbee, author of "A New Kind of Youth Ministry", will be speaking at the conference, along with many of the rezlife team. The dates are May 11-15, and the cost is $150 to register (registration opens November 1-look for a post here then about the details)

-Over 130 leaders are coming to observe our Wednesday night youth gatherings

-I am leading a 4-hr pre-institute workshops on Creativity and Innovation in youth ministry including; getting outside the walls, teaching with media, use of the internet, and interactive prayer and worship

-Jim Wallis is our guest keynote for institute and he will host a community forum the Saturday following Institute.

-During one of Pastor Adam Hamilton's plenary sessions I will have the opportunity to speak and share video testimony of our "Ministry As A Career" initiative here in rezlife.

We spent time in prayer as a staff team yesterday over every classroom, general session space, technical, and office space for God's spirit to be present and moving during Institute. I invite your prayer as well as I prepare for my presentations and guests this coming week.
