My name is Jason Gant and I am the Director of Student Ministries at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. I work with the best staff team in all of youth ministry reaching 6th grade-college life. I also lead the "Vibe" worship venue on Sunday mornings in the Student Center. I just released my first book (a ministry guide between Resurrection and Abingdon Press designed to encourage and equip youth ministry leaders in the smaller church setting). I am married to Scharme, and we have two daughters.

flag football conspiracy-indulge me

(in place of a "smear commercial" that would have only cost you more taxes and time, the Jason Gant campaign has chosen to deliver the following message over free resources such as "his blog" in an effort to respect you the people in good stewardship of resources and time-this in direct contradiction to Nathan Webb who decided to take of your staff chapel time this past Thursday)

This Thursday afternoon many of the Resurrection staff are participating in a wonderful team building game of flag football. This all began with a great and gentle innocence and is now tainted in lies, misdirection, and fraud!!

Some of you know my counterpart in ministry and nemesis on the field in this week's ensuing football competition, Nathan Webb (minister to young adults at Resurrection). At this past week's staff chapel Nathan destroyed all that is Holy with his slander and "politicizing" to increase recruiting for his team. He is calling his team "Webb's Warriors" (titling that screams low self esteem and insecurity of his flag football skills).

I find it incredibly sad that he would stoop to such pandering to find support and love (even Jeff Kirby is playing for him out of a merciful, caring, pastoral heart for someone who is in great pain)! Such slander as calling my team "Gant's Goons" is childish and pathetic. I feel it a responsibility to respond to some of Mr. Webb's claims in his now famous stump speech of this past Thursday.

He claims he has had an "illustrious football career" in both high school and college.......those who know Webb well recognize his failure to even finish the third grade. Have you seen his cursive-it is appalling!! How could he have played in this beautiful game we call football when he spent his childhood perfecting the art of crafting walking sticks out of Bull organs-disgusting!!

He claims to be sensitive to the elderly, yet he blatantly disrespected my neighbor, the sweetest grandmother on my street. She can often be seen making snow cones for the neighborhood children, with a smile as bright as a rainbow. Nathan Webb erupted into verbal abuse when she failed to remove the crust from his toasted PB & J she had so lovingly prepared for his veracious appetite.

I feel it my duty to share this "very true" and "very real" information with you so that you as a dedicated Resurrection staff member may be able to discern for yourself which team you will dedicate your time and talents toward. Know this--those who choose to play on my team will find no lies. You will only find support and care for this great game we call FOOTBALL!!

--This message approved by Jason Gant to completely discredit and belittle Nathan Webb--

Having to read this blog is much more tedious and long than Webb's rant from staff chapel.

I read this with another staffer and I had to wake them up halfway through.

It's also shameful you make people go on your blog for this...If this is what it takes to get people to read your blog then...

Webb's Warriors are going to rock your world!

I invite any and all to come check out what I have to say in response to Mr. Gant's post...

Also, I have just established that our team colors will be black and/or blue to represent what we're going to do to Gant's Goons tomorrow!

Nathan seems to feel that 'energy' is what nearly ends football careers.

I guess tomorrow will answer the question of which one of you has God's favor. I'd be getting some clergy of your own if I were you.
