Dan Entwistle (Managing Executive Director of Ministries), Andrew Conard (Associate Pastor), and myself are heading for a quick trip to California this weekend to take a closer look at some churches that are doing creative worship venue services.
We are planning on visiting Saddleback, Rock Harbor, NorthCoast, and maybe even Mosaic, if we can squeeze it in. This will be a valuable time as we dream about our venue service in the student center kicking off this fall. Our hope is to offer an entirely new style. I also hope to bridge the hundreds of high school and even middle school students into the larger life of the church beyond mid-week youth group!
Here's to the California sun, well at least a couple days of it. Man I hope Andrew and Dan don't snore!!
My name is Jason Gant and I am the Director of Student Ministries at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection. I work with the best staff team in all of youth ministry reaching 6th grade-college life. I also lead the "Vibe" worship venue on Sunday mornings in the Student Center. I just released my first book (a ministry guide between Resurrection and Abingdon Press designed to encourage and equip youth ministry leaders in the smaller church setting). I am married to Scharme, and we have two daughters.

Jason - My roommates in college told me that I would occasionally talk in my sleep - no snoring though. Nicole has not let me know about either of these things :) Looking forward to the trip.
Andrew Conard
I can attest now to no snoring, but certainly late night idea sessions that fried my brain! Good stuff-good stuff! God is doing amazing things at
Saddleback
Rock Harbor
Crystal Cathedral (not intended, but we were in the area)
and Northcoast!
